On Tuesday, 7th April the Government announced a new free pre-school year in early childhood care and education (ECCE). The scheme is expected to benefit some 70,000 children, aged between 3 years 3 months and 4 years 6 months every year. A helpline is in place from Monday, 20th April to answer queries from parents and childcare providers in relation to the operation of the new Scheme. The number is 1890 30 30 39.
